As autumn paints the landscape with shades of orange and gold, it's time to gather our sailing family! We warmly invite all members of the Surrey Sailing Club to our Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 (3 PM - 5PM). This event offers a chance not only to discuss club matters but to celebrate our shared experiences and enjoy warm treats in a friendly atmosphere.
The AGM will take place in person in our club’s main hall as well as online with Zoom. Here, we will update everyone on important club news, share future plans, and celebrate our achievements from the past year. Your voice truly matters, and we want to hear it! Regardless of whether you're an experienced sailor or just starting out, your input is essential in shaping the future of our beloved sailing community.
Before the AGM
A Warm Welcome Awaits (2 PM)
To enhance this gathering, we'll be serving hot mulled wine, hot chocolate and an array of select cheese to warm your spirits. Picture yourself sipping a fragrant cup of mulled wine, or hot chocolate, while connecting with fellow members, sharing stories of your sailing journeys, and reveling in the unique camaraderie of our club.
The ambiance will be cozy and inviting—perfect for sparking connections and rekindling friendships. Make plans to arrive early, grab your drink, and settle in for the engaging evening we have planned.
Fun by the Fire Pit (2 PM)
What beats gathering around a fire? This year, we’re thrilled to set up a fire pit outside for roasting marshmallows! There’s something special about sharing laughs and the joy of making perfectly toasted marshmallows.
Whether you enjoy them lightly roasted or with a crispy char, this is a wonderful opportunity to create lasting memories with fellow club members. Bring your family and friends, and together, let's make this AGM an unforgettable evening!
Get Involved: Cleanup Day (10 AM)
Before the AGM festivities, we want to motivate all members to join in the cleanup day. This initiative offers a great way to give back to our club while ensuring our sailing grounds remain beautiful and inviting.
Rear Commodore David Johnson will soon share specific tasks and details about the cleanup efforts, so stay tuned! Even if you can only spend a few hours, your help will make a significant impact. Plus, it’s an excellent way to meet new members and strengthen our community spirit.
